Hallelujah!

1. I feel so much better today! In fact-- I actually was able to go to work. And I was super excited about it.

2. I got some work done on a piece that I have been avoiding because it wasn't going that well. Now, I rather like it. More on this in an upcoming post.

3. My friend Amy sent me this picture:
Right, Sarah and that jacket do not play nicely together. But tell me , is that girl in the circle Gov. Palin's daughter? Let's look at the close up:
Bigger picture here.
Nice middle finger, kiddo. This is totally something I would've gotten caught doing.

4. Out of curiosity, what do those of you outside the U.S. think of this whole election thing? And what about Palin, anyway? I'd just like to pick your brains because it's so hard to imagine what it would be like looking in on this, so don't worry that I'm going to argue with you or haunt your blogs or anything. I really am curious, so come on, gimme your thoughts!

4. I got the sweetest card today from a friend of my mother's who basically was like a mom to me. It was so beautiful and heartfelt that I cried. And I didn't do one of those lady-like cries either. I gave it the old ugly cry. Believe me, this letter deserved an ugly cry because it was Just That Good.

5. The mailman came:
hells yes, Lindsey.

My day? Made.

From an Aussie looking in on the US election, I can't believe the money it requires to run a campaign. I'm not really up with either sides political views, I'm not really intopolitics outside Australia. We get the silly headlines like Obama and MCCain won't shake hands etc. There is a lot on here about how the financial crisis is effecting Australia. I hope whoever gets in can sort that mess out.

Hullo Erin! This is Reggie. I agree with Julie-- the money that it takes for someone to win is mind blowing and after walking around here for a year, disgusting. In Mumbai people talk about the economy but also the war. Maybe because we're closer to it? In circles, Palin is a sad sick joke. My friends at work all think that her being nominated just proves how arrogant and stupid McCain is. No one I know (here) wants him to win, as they fear he'll be as confrontational as Bush has been.

ha ha...that picture is hilarious!! Is it really Palin's kid?

Sharon-- I am glad I feel better too-- sooo glad. And in love with my new fashion accessory.

Julie- I can understand not being into politics outside your country. It can be exhausting just keeping up with our local races, much less the Obama/McCain stuff. And you're right. The economy here is in serious trouble, and impacting loads of other people.

REG!-- How are you?? How is Mumbai? No comment on Palin, even if the picture above might be photoshopped. My brother is going back to Iraq or Afghanistan again (#4), so yes, the war. Yes, confrontational. Aggressive.

mzpuzzled- indeed it is Piper Palin. The best part is her angry little face.

i am born and raised in Reykjavik (Iceland). I love my country, but we are in deep economic troubles. I watch the United States elections from afar, but with great interest. I do not feel Mccane has a good handle on how to fix the economics issues, and US economy effects so many other countries.

I miss your ebay shop! start selling paintings again!

The idea that they'd run Palin as VP is scary/angering on so many levels. Sorry I can't give you a non-U.S. perspective. Maybe her little girl will grow up with more compassion and less puppetry than her parents. She looks mad, maybe she's paying attention (does it work like that?)

What that little girl is doing I have wanted to do to Palin for a while now :-)

Well my lovey i feel like commenting on this could be highly dangerous but i'll be brave and give it a go. If you had to some it all up and we were all Simpsons charaters Lisa Simpson (England) Bart Simpson (Australia) and Nelson (America). Well thats what me and my friends think for what it's worth, i like it because there is somthing lovable about them all. Lets face it at the end of the day is anything really going to change?

maverika - ah yes. good point!

Karin - i LOVE her little face. i want to pet her.

HH - you make me laugh. i more than welcome your american perspective.

corine - RIGHT?!?!

nomes - you are right, absolutely, about us all being together in one show. And maybe things won't change. but i am always hopeful! :D

Palin is disgusting. That McCain chose her to run with him was offensive and made me of the mind that he thinks women are idiots. She was a "journalist" and couldn't name a goddamn paper that she reads for god's sake.

Kid has some serious attitude.

Politics at the moment are seriously scary. Someone who can't name their local paper and who hasn't held a passport until recently... the American political climate shapes that of the rest of the world so much, but without giving anyone else a say in it. Australian politicians are pretty weak and suggestible, so we hold our collective breath for a good outcome. There's a truckload of coverage here, including a feature article in the magazine from one of the bigger weekend newspapers on Sarah Palin... made me feel a little queasy, actually.

Yep, we're getting bucketloads of news on your election here. And honestly I have a lot of friends who really really care about American politics, and how the elections come out. It's hard not to. Actually I find it funny that people in Australia seem to care more than a lot of the US citizens would, in so much as wanting to vote. It seems very strange to us that people in the US wouldn't vote! (of course I'm talking from the point of view of myself and my immediate friends, who are chomping at the bit to vote when we can. Hell we'd probably come and vote for you if we could, hehehe). :) hold us back!!! hehehehe

Anyway I hope it goes well. Best of luck :)

p.s. even if you are ugly crying, at least you've got that amazing headband to make you pretty throughout.
